Abby's Dance Recital
When I had a little girl I couldn't wait to sign her up for ballet. So this year with Abby being 3 I thought she was old enough to comprehend what was going on, so I signed her up. She preferred tap over ballet but, she does ballet all the time at home..? I dunno. Parents were able to come in to watch their child dance the first thurs. of every month. I always enjoyed watching the things she learned over the previous month. One of my other favorite things to do was to dress her up for class. I bought her several outfits so that I had a few to choose from each week...:) At the end of the dance year which was in April they had a dance recital. The overall theme of the show was Happy Feet. They did their routine to the song "Always look on the bright side"...something like that. I had been nervous that Abby wouldn't get on stage so I was relieved to see that when her class came out she was with them. She totally froze and didn't move the whole song..:( She had been so excited to go on stage but, in her little mind she couldn't comprehend what it was all about. I felt so bad for her, she looked so scared. I was relieved when they walked off stage to end her suffering. I didn't think they would bring her back out for the finale with her reaction the first time but, they brought her out and she balled through the whole song. I hurried when it ended to go up and get her to calm her down. Even though she didn't dance she looked adorable...:)
She is the one all the way on the left in the middle row.

I'm a Newborn!
I had seen these stickers to put on your babies onesies each month and thought they were adorable. It took me longer than I would like to admit to decide which stickers I wanted (there were so many to choose from). I really wish I would have had these when Parkie and Abby were babies..:( My plan is to take lilly's picture with the exact backround and bow and then frame all of them when she turns one. It took a few tries to finally get a pic I liked ..:)
Lilly's first bath!
Lilly had her first bath and what I expected to be a quick in and out thing with a lot of screaming turned out to be the opposite. I braced myself as I started to bathe her and to my surprise she just layed there and seemed totally content. I still have yet to see her cry when I give her a bath. She loves to lay there while I pour warm water on her. I think Lilly is going to be our little waterbug..:)

Lilly Anna Ehlert
Well she's here..:) She's actually been here for 4 weeks now but, I'm just now getting around to blogging about it. Lilly was born on April 15th at 10:58p.m.. The day was pretty uneventful until about 2p.m. I noticed that I was leaking more fluid than normal (tmi?...:)..). I wasn't thinking too much about it until it was noticibly getting worse and then I started feeling contractions with it. I didn't want to rush to the hospital, so we stayed home for awhile so that I could get as far along as I could before I felt it was time to go. Since brad was still unable to drive, my mom drove us to the hospital around 5 something. I checked in and they did their rountine check to see that your water did in fact break. I have been through this with two other children so I knew that my water either had a leak or it did in fact break. They did have to break it completely which is when they noticed that Lilly had pooped ...Alot!..So the NICU team had to be there to take her to hopfully suction her before she started to cry. Lilly was on top of it though, she came out screaming! so they let me see her right away. I was so relieved to finally have the pregnancy and delivery over with and to finally have her here.
I know I had 9 months to come up with a name but, the name I had picked was not the name I said in my head when I saw her. I felt very uneasy about the name and had a hard time even calling her by that name. Lilly was a name that I had for a back-up not even thinking I would even have to use it, I had no middle name to go with it. I struggled to make a decision and finally felt at ease about the name we had come up with. She was so perfect and I struggled to keep my eyes off of her. Parkie said it best when he said "Mom, I just can't stop staring at her, she's just so cute!" I agree Parkie..:) Parkie and Abby are smitten with their little sister and love to give her kisses. Abby tries to help a little too much at times but, I know that she's just trying to be the little Mommy. We are so happy to welcome our little Lilly to our family...:)
