Twin City Maze

After weeks of driving by the Twin City Maze and having Parkie exclaim every time "Mom...I wanna go there!!" I decided to take them this past Saturday. We also took his two best friends Jace and Gus. They had a giant slide, helicopter ride, bounce houses, hay maze, corn maze, corn pit, animals, a live band and last but not least food!! Brad and I also got in on the fun in the corn pit. You're never to old to jump in the corn right?...Nope, not in my book. Jace and Gus took turns dunking each others heads in the corn as if it were water...lol. Parkie enjoyed swimming and burying himself in it. Abby was unsure about it but, she did walk around a little bit and helped bury the boys in the corn. Brad also enjoyed doing a couple of cannon balls into the corn as you will see in the picture down below. At the end Jace says "That was the best day ever!!" His words pretty much sums up our afternoon :)

A short haired cutie in a dress...........

As Parkie and I were eating our dinner he says to me:
Parkie..."Mom, Gus has a girlfriend"
Mom...."really?"
Parkie.. "Yea but, I don't really like her" (insert sigh of relief from Mom thinking he still thinks girls are icky)
Parkie.."I like someone else"
Mom..."Who?"
Parkie.. "I don't know her name"
Mom.."What does she look like?"
Parkie.."She has blonde hair like you" (In my mind I'm thinking of course she does while doing my hair flip) "She has short hair, blue eyes, and wears a dress"
Mom....."Is she in first Grade?" (To most moms this would be an assumption already made, but my son has always had an eye for the older ladies)
Parkie.. "Yea I saw her at lunch and then again at recess"

I couldn't help but sit there and think "this is to early! a week ago he thought girls were icky and now he's stalking a cute little blonde in a dress?!!". As I started to go into a small panic I thought back to when boys started thinking I was cute. I started remembering the little boys chasing me at recess and being so tired from running by the time recess came to and end. This started in first grade and by the time second grade came around I had hired myself a bodyguard to give my little legs a rest. Come to find out he also had a little crush on me but took a different approach........Smart!!

As a Mom I'm finding it so hard to watch my kid's grow up. While you're living in the moment you feel like this stage is gonna last forever but, something small happens and you realize this is but a short time in life.
Well, that was one of the small happenings today along with tantrums, drama, smiles, and singing from Abby. I love you Parkie and Abby!!

Love, Mom

Welcome to our little world

Sooooo.... I finally started my family blog. I have wanted to do this for some time now and I really have no good reason why I haven't. I would have liked a better starting point such as; the beginning of the year, or maybe on a Monday, or the first of a month. I recently bought a magnet for my fridge that says “Now is the right time".I feel like that magnet gives me the death stare ever time I open my fridge. So I've decided to heed the advice of my wise magnet and start one of my many firsts in my life. I say this because I am always putting off everything I am wanting to learn, do, express, create for later.
My main reason for starting the blog is self serving. I have found recently as a mom our attention is pulled into so many different directions that sweet little moments with our kids can be easily forgotten. My only regret is that I didn't start this earlier when Parker was little. I find myself not remembering the little things until I notice something that Abby does and then saying to myself, “Oh yea Parker used to do that". So take a seat and enjoy a glimpse inside our little world.
